Vintage dress, Theyskens' Theory wedges
Crushed velvet and shoulder pads... What does everyone make of that equation? I'm more inclined to think that it is sort of a '90s experiment gone wrong, yet obviously it makes so much more sense in two thousand and twelve. I was never a fan of anything padded, let alone in a dress form. On the contrary, I was probably the first to scissor off any possible signs of an unnatural shoulder build-up. And somehow today textures are so much more valid for me rather than shapes. Obsessing over velvet on velvet combo, especially in black and blue.

I actually think the shoulder pads look great. I wouldn't say that they always look good, but they do suit this dress. And I adore the velvet on velvet look!

I love the velvet overload! It's a necessity for the holidays but I would have never thought to pair 2 different velvet pieces together. It's ultra chic. Love it all.
