Barbara Bui SS'14
Barbara Bui was so unearthly a few weeks ago in Paris with her SS'14 collection. It's that take on denim that held me mesmerised for solid ten minutes and then every time I was dialing through the photos on my camera. So 'minimally overrated' in the best possible meaning of this. I love how clean and crisp every look was, yet giving just enough extravaganza of shredded cotton and the kind of '90s florals that are the absolute opposite of disturbing (I'm sure your mind wanders back to some of your past decade wardrobe staples). I am probably most drawn to the half torso exposing blazer, giving away just enough skin yet so texturally overrated that it really works well even with a pair of almost non-existing shorts. I have this number imprinted in my brain until the start of the next season (and definitely way past it), but possibly with a tiny black skirt instead though. And... just look at that last look. I'm sure you are distracted by this as much as I am. Nothing does justice to little blue dresses like an option of having it unbuttoned half way down the front.
Denim is the new black for the Summer to come.
