Picked up an issue of Self Service during my lay over at the Frankfurt airport yesterday. It seemed as the only available option with a decent selection of editorials - slightly overdue, since many photos have surface the internet a few months ago. Taking a good advantage of the airport internet for a way overdue post. On my way to Russia. The entire week went by in preparations for the campaign shoot of my Summer'12 collection - obligatory long hours at the studio combined with a lack of sleep and a desperate need for recuperation afterwards.

Flying off for sometime to see my mom and secretly hoping that all the knitwear options i hurriedly stack up in my luggage yesterday will suffice for the more than 2m of snow. Shot these pics near my home base in Belgium just before heading to the airport. Some more pointed heels and my dalmatian looking fur paired up with the uniform skinny jeans.

I love hiding in coats and jackets when there is no other way to escape the cold, sort of like security blankets. Fur trimmed boots have also become a must - first thing to reach out for in the mornings. Have been staying in Belgium for the past two weeks before heading to Russia over the weekend. Leaving the house only for the studio and trying desperately to catch every second of sunshine during these days. A few shots from here and there to emphasise the matter.

Toying with the jacket I designed for this Winter. I have this unstoppable love for parkas and all possible alternates of a puffer jacket. So here is a tribute to one.

Exploring the sights around a bunch of lakes near home. Even though the wind was piercing through the jacket and the weather was on the verge of a rain storm, everything else was just absolutely worth it. Stunning sights - more pictures coming up soon.

Still obsessing over that Wang clutch. Down dressing it a little with a basic mustard sweater, which apparently is meant for men, but I'm actually drawn to it even more like that. Boys don't like it anyway, just always seem to avoid v-necks and such. The flare leggings are another current fixation of mine. These are from one of my previous collections and I've been almost on a verge of forgetting I had them (not to mention designed and made them). Love how they are flared to a good measure and perfectly fitting too.

Tonight - sketching a bunch of new designs to the extent that my pencil sharpener is absolutely blunt and I'm running out of crayons, having numerous cups of black tea with chocolate and preparing for the lookbook shoot we have on friday.

Definitely one of the most conscious sale buys I've ever made - silver Alexander Wang clutch bag. Despite the obvious awesomeness of the chunky zips and the super structural shape the fact that the whole thing is totally mirror-y and perfectly tiny makes is even more fearsome. I'm not sure if I'll ever have a chance to incorporate it into my daily wear right now, but it's definitely going to do mileage during the Summer season.

Zara sweater - skirt - glasses, Prada platforms

Incidentally this post is becoming one of these tributes to a particular high street store. Zara it is. Wearing almost everything from there. That last pre sales season they carried quite a stock of awesome goodies. I did get dressed in a hurry to snap some shots and only in the aftermath of it all I realised everything I wore was single branded (well, except the forever favourite Prada platforms). This week has been full of designing and other related project, which resulted in the other side of my lie becoming pretty irrelevant for the moment, or at least until the next Friday's deadline.

On another note I'm getting a little bit frustrated with all the darkness and the rain and not particularly excited about wearing coats, fur, hats and all that winter junk + umbrella has been a must for every day now. Impulsively dressing up just for the pictures - bare legs and no unnecessary outerwear.

This morning right before my routinely ride to Brussels, snapping a few photos in front of the house. I was planning to have a more organised shoot for the blog, but me sleeping way past the alarm clock caused for improvisation. So we just went for it, grabbed the camera and went outside to catch a little bit of sunlight. I quickly got into my new printed Zara pants - last week's Munich buy and now officially the ultimate favourite turtleneck sweater. I did change these for a thicker uniform later on, even though they felt perfectly appropriate in the moment. And I didn't mind the cold, well, for about 5 minutes.

Ok. After a week of staying indoors helping out my mom with a handful of post-op perks of a knee surgery and another week of snowboarding before that I'm back home in Belgium. Recuperating and getting ready for a new photoshoot of the Spring collection, finishing up a bunch of accessories and preparing myself for a few more sleepless nights before heading to Russia for a quick family visit. The check coat arrived home in my absence. One of those impulsive and entirely pointless bargain buys - result of the never-ending January sales.

Rewearing my Zara starstruck skirt here in Solden. Not exactly ideal for the heavy snow fall, but still pretty perfect for the hotel's indoors. Loving how the slightly longer trail is so flowy and transparent just a good measure.

We went outside yesterday after dinner just to snap a few shots right in front of the hotel. And somehow taking my Russian hat seemed like the only good option. At least I had a weather appropriate headpiece.

I just never got around to posting these shots we took with Krassi at one of the truck stops on highway to Paris. I'm toying with fur. The usual thing for me this season. Studded Chucks have evolved into best friends for all sorts of trips. Got another flash trip scheduled for tonight. Flying to Moscow for a few days to do a little work on my fashion label. And then it's almost New Year's Eve.

I feel like I've been wearing an inappropriate amount of fur and shearling coats lately. These just prove totally functional in my wardrobe, especially in December freeze. I can't quite let this coat rest. It's just so handy every time I wear it and it does such a nice job regardless skirts or pants. I think I prefer it layered with a short dress though. Prada platforms have seen the light for the first time since September. I have to admit feeling a little hesitant at first to wear them in all that rain and drizzle, but gosh, these have the most magical appeal amongst all the shoes I own. Clean minimalist cut and the highest heel ever - I'm totally sold.

Given another chance to the patent pointed toe boots over the weekend. I'm actually growing to love them in a combination with leather pants and a shearling jacket. A juxtaposition of textures. Briefly toying with that Zara bag too. It does look cool in that amber light. Almost solid really. But I still cannot quite make up my mind about it.

H&M Trend coat, Zara hat, Vasilieva bag

Experimented with soldier style coat and feather the other day. The coat was immediate love when I got it on sale last winter. The moment I brought it home, I just figured the whole deal of military will perfectly do the trick for the season. Double breasted, awesome details, pockets and the belt. What more can you wish for ... nothing. Yet, somehow I ended up wearing it only once back then. I guess just had a hart time styling it, despite the fact that it is ridiculously versatile.

Loving the whole fashion contradiction it has with the feathers and that angora hat texture that I'm strangely addicted to. Somehow it just makes perfect sense to me.

Keeping up with the Christmas spirit. I snapped a picture of a sneaky Santa the other day. It really does make me smile every time I look at it.

Last Saturday in Antwerp. Wore my leather down parka jacket (it seems like there are way too many words to describe one jacket), mostly for comfort and warmth. It sort of eased into my wardrobe after the Russia trip some weeks ago and since then it's a daily grab for the rainy mornings. I just love toying with idea of having a proper fur trim around the hood. It sort of looks ridiculously cool in the pictures. The boots are a new slightly weird and splashy take on the animal print. Loving the fact that these are not a straightforward leopard. And they are entirely walk proof.

I had all these photos shot in colour first. Failing to actually create a concise order of these I ended up having them turned monochrome. Everything just felt more right that way really.

Layers of knitwear, quilted shorts, platforms and a boyfriend cut coat. This is probably the fastest I ever got dressed. Love the idea of a spontaneous dressing up process and the fact that I let myself to randomly pick out things laying around the apartment and just throw everything into one look, hoping something decent will come out of it. And I'm really not sure why I haven't given that feather clutch much deserved attention before. It sort of adds this weird evening chic vibe to a random casual outfit. Going to hold on to it for a little longer during the festive season. Feathers make me somewhat ecstatic lately.

Ready to Fish, Minimarket, Tsumori Chisato, Opening Ceremony, Surface to Air, and a few more awesome brands

Yesterday I had a chance to stop by the D*Concept Store in Antwerp to see the new Ready to Fish collection and a great deal of other mind-blowing designs from pretty much all over the world. Racks and racks of absolute awesomeness. Seeing some of these for the first time from up close was pretty surreal. This definitely offers a much better experience than shopping online. And I know I might sound cheesy, but this is how it really feels. The knitwear and some oversized denim seemed to be designed for an urban princess, and being as wearable as much as innovative they really fit the profile of sharing-artistic-expressions impeccably. Loved silky prints and the fact that they are so daily wear ready and so perfect on their own, that require no additional hardware or accessorising.

They do carry a few absolutely ideal shoe options too, ranging from evening/party/feel-like-wearing-something-a-little-more-fancy-tonight to some pretty cool daily run-around-the-city versions. Shearling 15cm high platforms are simply beyond mind-blowing.

Quite seriously it's the laziest day I had in months. Taking time off work and everything else and just spending the whole morning wrapped in blankets and listening to Christmas carols on the iTunes radio. They have one whole station made up solely for this purpose. Disturbing, in a pleasant way though. And here are a few festive things I tried to document for the past two weeks. My schedule has been totally packed recently and to be honest I wasn't really aware of the fact that Christmas is just around the corner until I realised how many of these shots I have piled up on my computer. About the last shot - totally bizarre, there are cherry blossoms in the middle of December. Usually these don't seem to exist at least until March. A little holiday miracle.

It's almost feel like I'm beginning to build up my Summer wardrobe again, in the middle of December. Anyway, judge me not. I'm just showing you the newest addition to my SS'12 collection (finished working on it yesterday evening right before bedtime) and I just wish the sun was shining so that I could take it out for a well deserved proper picture.

Figuring out some new ways to style and accessorise my designs for the shoot we have in January, so this baby is probably going to shine with some super structured white dress, or possibly I will option for a white suit. What do you recon?

* Snapped a few totally amateurish pictures of the whole suit in ensemble. I'm thinking it might need some higher heels in the future, but for now I'm loving it. Bleached yellow should do nicely next season.

I am lately very much drawn to mesh fabrics, sheers and all sorts of see-through materials in a forgiving combination with plastic (oh yeah, and by 'plastic' I really mean 'plastic') and glass. Made this tank top last week as part of my upcoming Summer collection. As irrelevant as it seems at the moment, I feel like I'm already so over the winter season (before it even began) and so strategically prepared to pair it up with some blue denim and a tiny bra top underneath. Alternatively I'm thinning it will work nicely with some basic swimwear too, a little on a cruise side of things.

Plan for today - finishing up a light yellow suit ensemble. A little nervous about the pants, but hoping everything will harmonise nicely. Will snap a few photos to show you.

There is something naively attractive about stars on a dark blue background, love the idea though beyond crazy. Picked up this sheering skirt in Zara over the weekend (one of those totally impulsive buys) and was seriously waiting for sunnier and maybe slightly warmer days to wear it. But the moment I brought it home I was really wanted to put it on and see how well it layers with fur and chunky knitwear. My all consuming coat almost does swallow it altogether, lol, but I certainly enjoy the idea of a sheer tail flowing all the way down. I will probably never part with this skirt again and Zara seems to have a few other awesome goodies in store this season.

At home in New York. Well, no, not really. Just love that poster I have above my couch and some crazy weird hectic lifestyle it represents. Had a perfect day yesterday working on a new blazer for my collection (cannot wait to show it to you once it's ready) and stayed up late finishing off a few projects. Tried to shoot a few photos with Krassi outdoors yesterday evening, but all we got was a bunch of smudges and a lot of blur, lol, thanks to darkness and rain. Moving it all inside now. Not sure really how to classify these golden pants I wore then. I've had them for a while under a stockpile of other stuff in my closet, and for the most part they seemed a bit too costumy and way too 'golden'. But hey, they do a great match to my pony boots, which right away got me committed. I will probably have to experiment some more with these jeans and one day I'll get it right. Throwing a cable knit a couple of sizes too big on top of everything seemed more than appropriate.

This coat is becoming more of a daily wear piece than I expected, especially with temperatures dropping almost close to zero. I love the idea of throwing it on top of pretty much anything and having my hair messier than usual (ghastly wind does just that). I haven't had a pair of animal printed footwear for quite a while. Always felt as an outsider when it came to obvious leopard or other type of marking. Random look from the last weekend. I have this unstoppable desire to wear all black lately (or at least almost all). Love the idea of getting to play with textures a little bit more. It is becoming more and more obvious that the fur coat will do mileage this Winter. And I am actually tempted to cut slits in a few other pairs of jeans I own, just need to stock up on pointed toe booties to match everything up.

Plan for today - doing a bit of designing for my line (photos soon). And will probably walk around the city a little to take a few snaps of all the Christmas junk they hang out everywhere. Looks pretty and totally season appropriate.

Images of red denim have railed more blogs recently than I can count. I'm still loving the washed red jeans with sort of rusty patches on hems and side stitches. These make everything look much better. Strategically pairing them up with some random black fur coat (it seems like over the years I have acquired quite a collection of such coats in my closet). Plus the almost freezing weather lets me play around with fur, which is kind of the point of the season.

It is definitely time to be stocking up on chunkier sweaters and hooded leather jackets before Winter hits hard with all the snow they've been promising lately. These would undeniably offer both comfort and an awesome look. But for some reason, functionality aside, I am more inclined to be spending most of my budget on mini shoulder bags. It's seems like it's all about the small 'hold-alls' this season. No need to carry around unnecessary tons of junk, plus looking cleaner and definitely more crisp.

I've been hunting for the perfect little bag for a few good months now, but the search is over. The new Phillip Lim fits all the cool criteria of a shoulder bag. And the double straps with a furry tail make it look like there is another secret twist somewhere there too. Once I get my hands on it, it is going to be immediately accumulated into my daily wear.

Buckling down for Winter. It's one of these days when it feels like shearling is perfectly appropriate, yet it is still not cold enough to properly indulge in wearing fur. Still thawing from my Russian trip and trying on a new interpretation of some previously acquired items. I have been wearing this jacket for the past few seasons and every time it writes up for a new interpretation. Pointy shoes are a new must this Fall and here I was thinking I was allergic to these all those years. Pretty painless now, lol.

Determined to put up a photo diary from Russia within the next few day, unless I'll have to lock myself at the studio again until all the pending designs are finished up.

I don't quite know how to classify this jacket except the fact that it does go way beyond the ordinary biker cut. The sleeve embellishment is so intricate and in a perfect harmony with the leather as if it has been created by at least a wizard. Loving the multiple pockets and the fact that the whole thing is properly belted. I can already see infinite styling options with this one.

Fiomio leather down jacket, Fishbone jeans, H&M gloves

Fiomio coat is probably one of my favourite purchases from Russia. Always love a good outer layer especially after not so much being used to the freezing temperatures. Having it in proper length seemed more substantial too. A crafty mix of leather and down is probably the best out there for that purpose.

Spending last few days in the Winter wonderland, treating myself to longer sleeping hours, spontaneous shopping trips and numerous cups of hot chocolate during the day. Heading back to Brussels early Monday morning. New collection and a bunch of things I have to finish up there are keeping me up till late hours. Making me a little nervous too, in a good way though. Excited to see the end result by the midst of December.

Loving the fact that my hair looks slightly ginger-ish in these photos. Always wanted to experiment with the colour just a tad, just never had the guts to actually go through with it.

Russian November hasn't been exactly welcoming in terms of the amount of show that is pouring on a daily basis. It really has me wanting to wear fur and shearling until I run out of options. I got that jacket a few seasons ago as a spontaneous buy in one of the local outerwear stores. This is probably one of the most versatile items in my closet. It always does the trick paired with skirts or pants regardless. Loving it with a pair of leather boxing shorts.

Quick post from this morning when my mom and I went for a little walk conquering the cold and eventually ended up heading towards the car about 15 minutes later. I wore a Max Mara shearing coat - the new favourite option for the snowy weather. I does a lot for comfort and warmth, which sort of become essential in these conditions. Loving that worn out almost vintagy look and the side panels that in a way bring it back to modern reality. Dressing it a little with the studded boots and a snake skin messenger.

Love the idea of pairing 'dirty' washed red denim with a chunky knit. Shapeless wool is probably the best thing this Fall. I can see myself committing to it till at least the end of November when it will be carefully folded up and placed onto one of my glory-sweater shelves at home back in Belgium. The red jeans I picked up a few days ago immediately caught my attention and the fact that they are not so properly red, yet properly fitted was enough to sell me alone.

I am officially frozen here at my Russian home base. Coming from the Belgian Indian Summer to the temperatures way below zero makes a nice excuse for a great deal of layering and knitwear. Good thing I brought coat options and quite a few pairs of boots. Slightly jet lagged I successfully managed to miss most of the gloomy day light today, only to discover that the city becomes a good deal brighter at night. A few random snapshots from a place where I spent most of my teenage years and a bunch of not so proper outfit pics. See you all tomorrow when the sun comes out.

I could easily opt for a pair of velvety Thakoon ankle boots this season making a nice addition to my shoe collection. Loving the whole new interpretation of a cowboy boot, channelling something definitely more edgy with these multiple stripes and an oddly placed buckle. And in addition to all that blue would be perfect with an all black ensemble.

Randomly choosing a few photos to post up whilst still processing a good few hundred of pictures we took in London over the weekend. I timely managed to finish knitting this pullover just before going away to England and it actually turned out pretty much the way I wanted it to. Paired up with the leather look pants and Topshop ankle booties, which weirdly match up nicely with absolutely everything. It's finally getting chilly outside and I'm in some freakish and totally premature Christmas mood.

Leather boots and a chunky knit mandated by November. The weather is still in some odd semi-Indian-Summer mode, which makes layering almost impossible. Bought this sweater in Antwerp a few months ago and haven't regretted the purchase once. I love pairing it with some weird form of ultra thin black denim and heavy leather boots. And the leather sleeves come in handy too - a perfect mix of textures checking off nicely. Still hoping to be able to build up on some layers soon, maybe at least by the end of the Fall season.

Getting late breakfast by the sea last Sunday. Had my leather look pants on and a fur coat for warmth mainly. Gotten so much wear out these pants already that it seems like I had them for a longlong while. They sort of have a perfect cut and are soft enough to be worn the whole day. Looking for a decent replacement though, just in case I want to have my options open. Fingers crossed something good will come up soon.

Last year's jacket is slowly becoming the new favourite for the season. Loving how it has countless styling options, well as long as it's not raining, and works well with pretty much much everything in my closet. Still trying to enjoy the open toe Givenchy wedges before winter really hits the city.

Off to the studio now. Plan for today - finishing off a few things for he new collection and starting a new straw clutch. Exciting.

Reaching out for fur coats at the back of my wardrobe and staying more indoors while working on my new designs. Layers seem definitely more appropriate now than a couple of weeks ago. And it is officially the tangerine season. Love this time of the year. I got an order of fresh off the printer business cards, so finally I do have something to give away to people I meet - this definitely feels great, and more professional too. Wearing my 'make a wish' bracelet by Vanrycke every day now. Love how it always gets tangled around my watch creating an awesome mash up of details.

Swing Prada sunglasses. Picked these up in Milano right before flying back to Brussels last month. Loving the new take on the cat-eye frames and the semi transparent glass is sort of flattering. At least the eye makeup does not go to waste while wearing these.

Out in the woods - one of the semi-rainy afternoons a few days ago. October has properly taken its tall and now a decent coat and tights are definitely a must. I still love the idea of wearing leather shorts paired up with a chunky knit. It's probably even more for comfort and for the feeling of being wrapped up into something cozy, rather than for warmth. It's almost Friday - have plans to drive around the country a little (Belgium is pretty tiny), maybe even hit the seaside on a Sunday morning. See you there.

Autumn options. Somehow I like the idea of having a pair of burgundy Zara pants in my closet this season. These are pretty perfect to reach out for in the mornings and except obvious awesomeness of a classic shape and easy wear, they work beautifully with all of the chunky knits I own. Dressed them up a little with a pair of Prada platforms this afternoon. In general though, skirts would be my first choice this Fall. They have been taking most of my wardrobe space during the Summer, and I have a feeling things are not going to change dramatically any time soon.

Chunky knits, proper footwear, well not so much in this case, but a decent coat for sure - somehow Summer flu by and now it's officially Fall time. I had no problem integrating this H&M trend coat into my wardrobe. Picked it up in Milano almost a month ago thinking I could make some use out of it once the rain season starts here in Belgium. I still don't want to let go of the warm days.

Wore it with the Paris buy Acne sweater, which is soft enough to be able to serve as a pillow when needed and H&M trend loose fit leather shorts. It got to the point that the rain was pouring so hard it was almost inappropriate to wear shorts, but I just couldn't miss my possibly last chance to go bare legs this year.

Something new I designed for one of my collections. Silver cotton wouldn't normally be an obvious choice, but somehow that artsy blueish shade managed to avoid creating an image of spacewear in my mind. And this being a good thing. I loved combining scallops and open back and a chunky zip around the waist in a pretty well fitting dress. Definitely an opportunity I couldn't miss. Have been dreaming of such a dress for a good few nights now. I did make a sliver skirt in that cotton too. It is disturbing (in a good way) how often I get carried away with my work. Cannot wait to show you the rest real soon.

I made quite a walk to Rue Scribe in Paris yesterday just to make it in time for the Alena Akhmadullina show at the Le Grand Hotel. Fairy tail inspired, Alice in Wonderland dresses and jumpsuits fresh off the runway. Loved the idea of an unreal texture mixing spiced up with loose silhouettes and sky high footwear. It seems like these booties have been crafted by at least a magician. I am never going to be against her obviously awesome and almost off this planet prints and tasteful rousing on leather and sheers. Love.

Still trying to figure out how to classify this print I was somehow drawn to yesterday at Zara. It does remind me a lot of these utterly cool dresses Christopher Kane did recently. Love the whole galaxy vibe. Zara has a pretty awesome selection of silver goodies too this season. Got myself another mini dress with totally functional side pockets and an exposed zip at the back. Surprisingly functional too. It feels good to be able to go down to stores again and staying away from online shopping. This is what an intense month of designing and photoshoots and other random stuff does to you.

Off to Paris tomorrow for the last day of fashion week. Really excited to see the new Alena Akhmadullina show.

Random shot from my hotel back in Milan. Wearing Amisu leather look pants. These have been a perfect Autumn upgrade to my beloved shorts and skirts. Love the idea of mixing leather with lighter sheers and silks. Have had that red blouse in my closet forever, but never could manage to pair it well with anything really. It worked pretty good with an overload of studs and leather though.

burberry prorsum in brussels

Last week I got an invite to see the new Burberry Prorsum SS12 runway at their Brussels store. A pretty decent size screen projection and in the afermath store assistants equipped with iPads chatting with everyone about the details of the new collection. Hopefully you guys got a chance to see the new Africa inspired Prorsum. A few things that really stuck out to me and I totally wouldn't mind having in my closet next season are the pom-pom straw hats and woven leather coats. Loved all the cropped parkas too. These would work perfectly with pretty much anything next Spring.

At the end spending most of the time exploring footwear and coats from the current collection and acquiring a couple of tiny precious bottles of Burberry Body. This perfume has all good chances of becoming an upgrade to my current Chloe scent.

Wearing my black H&M trend dress, which tends to give me a seam tear every now and then. I'm a little sad it's slowly falling apart. Loving that velvet top part a lot and these puffy sleeves too, and the side pockets, which make it totally cool to have my both hands in at all times. Milano has me wanting to wear black and whites for the past few days. It's almost like some weird Paris mode. Fringe wedges are absolutely random. Wearing these for comfort + the most perfect animal print scarf by Jimmy Choo. The material is so soft and flowy, it allows for perfect multy-layer wraps.
