5 Tips for Decorating Your Home with Style For You And Your Pooch

You and your dog are a team, so why not decorate your home with style for both of you? You know that feeling when you walk into someone’s house and it smells like dog but they have amazing furniture? It can be hard to find the right balance between style for humans and style for dogs. But don’t worry! We’re here to help. Here are five tips on how to decorate your home in a way that will make both you and your pup happy.

Be mindful of cleaning products

Make sure that any cleaners or air fresheners are pet friendly or use natural options, such as baking soda mixed with vinegar, essential oils, lemon juice or tea tree oil. Keep this area in a cabinet that your dog can’t access.

Give your dog their own space

This can be a crate, bed or blanket. Make sure that the space is comfy and cozy for your dog. For an added touch you can add some of their favorite toys or treats to make them feel comfortable!

Remember: Don’t forget about yourself in this process too! If there’s no room for you in one area of the house, try to find a space for you too!

Designate an area that is off limits

Designate an area for your dog that is just their space. This can be a corner of the house or even in front of a door to block off certain rooms. Your pup should have someplace comfortable and safe where they can go if they feel anxious or nervous about something going on around them!

You may also want to designate another part of the house as your space. You deserve to have a place where you can go and relax, without being around or worrying about your dog!

Decorate your home appropriately for you and your dog

This is a process that should be done together. Decorating for your dog’s needs can lead to you feeling more comfortable as well! You may also want to incorporate some of their favorite toys and treats into the decor, or even hang up photos of them on the walls.

It might take time but keep working at it until both of you are happy with the design!

Be creative yet simplistic

You don’t need to go overboard with your dog’s decor! Keep it simple and use basic colors that are easy on the eyes. The best part about this is that you can change things up easily when the time comes without having to replace anything or spend a ton of money!

Keep in mind: your pup may not even notice what you’re doing- they just want to spend time with you! But if your dog does notice, be sure to praise them for being a good boy or girl.
